During my short stay in Italy last weeks I went to visit the Lamborghini museum at their factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese. Find here a short photo dump. And a recommendation as I found this one to be way more interesting then their Ferrari counterpart in Modena. Although I haven’t been at Ferrari’s for years now so my experience over there is a bit outdated. Anyway... Enjoy! If you like your Lamborghinis that is. And don’t mind scrolling. otherwise just move along...

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

That will generate quite the interior sensation...

Wow! I like the amount of natural light there, the Ferrari museum was a cave compared to that, I think the cars show much better this way.

That blue open Muira is something else! And the LP400... and the brown Urraco... and 350GT... and Islero... man, what a great selection. Someday!

Don’t be fooled, there’s some photography skills involved here ;-) I took a mini tripod and was able to let exposure do the rest. But it was easier than at Ferrari’s, definitely. And the lineup is way more complete as well. I was here before just after the VAG take-over. They were restoring that brown Urraco back then, the curator showed us after letting us in (it wasn’t open yet to the public).

The 400 GT 2+2 is the winner here! Those curves...

Well great camera work then! The Ferrari museum had a pretty good selection when I was there in ‘07, including some amazing competition cars (the Pozzi 365 GTB/4, a 206S, one of the Carrera cars, a TdF!!) and a white Superfast that sticks in my mind, but I’m pretty sure the Lambo facility has better variety.

And the 400gt, yes.. specifically that arse... Mmm.

Fantastic images!! I know how hard it can be to get anything decent in a situation like this. You’ve done a great job.

I’ll take the Miuras. Both of them.

Grazie per le belle macchine!(That does make sense, right? I’m still learning Italian)

Haha, Grazie! The size of the exposition at Ferrari’s is/was just a bit of a let-down, especially for what we paid (compared to paying nothing at Lamborghini’s ;-) ). At least: When I was there that is. But that was even before 2007...

Too bad I didn’t research the trip somewhat better: the factory visit was sold out up until september, totally wanted to do that!

Kinja'd!!!1

Grazie, means a lot coming from you! Certainly ain’t my favorite, controlled environment for shooting ;-)

I still prefer the normal Miura, you can take that Spyder. But that grey 400 GT 2+2 amazed me with it’s looks. Totally!

Kinja'd!!! Jobjoris > BvdV - The Dutch Engineer
08/07/2016 at 16:06

Kinja'd!!!1

Do it! Just remember to order that factory visit in time!

Makes sense syntacticly, although I’m not sure if the Italians would understand such an indirect “subject”. Maybe add “foto’s”: “Grazie per le belle immagini di automobili!” ;-)

Lovely. They should put these in their brochure. That green early Countach is the shit. And that 400GT. I also never realized how sad the Egoista looks. Its expression is downright forlorn.

Kinja'd!!!1

Grazie! That 400 GT 2+2 would be the one for me I think. Or that grey Miura. Or that Countach. Or the Islero. God I love these. Except for that depressing no-fun-in-sharing Egoista.

I loved how they put that Aventador on the wall in Dutch angle !

Kinja'd!!! Jonee > Jobjoris
08/09/2016 at 00:51

Kinja'd!!!1

Yeah, I’d take pretty much any of the pre-1980 ones. That Egoista is a meanie jerk-face for sure.

This post was all about Dutch angles. I love your use of them in the photos. It works great with the Countach. It’s like an old Batman episode.

It’s so mean, I didn’t dare using a Dutch angle on it! I’m surprised Josje didn’t run away in fear...

Haha. Adorable. It's scowling at her behind her back. Co-champions. That must have been a heck of a race. Does she drive in sandals?

Kinja'd!!! Jobjoris > Jonee

Kinja'd!!!1

That 2-1-3 stage was awesome. No one used it but when I saw it I sent Josje and Selina (Simon’s daughter) up there and told ‘m to yell and act victorious. So lots of visitors came to look what was happening. After that the stage wasn’t untouched for minutes. No one dared act as exuberantly as those 2 Dutch 4 year olds. Hahaha.

The sandals were just for the picture. She drives bare-footed. Like dad. Especially in Italy where it’s prohibited to drive with slippers on your feet (fact!).

Kinja'd!!! Jonee > Jobjoris
08/10/2016 at 22:29

Kinja'd!!!1

That’s great. 4 year should run the world. It’d be a much funner place.

That’s the only way to really feel the car. I once fell in love with a girl who was driving a Subaru 360 barefooted. She was a badass. I don’t think it’s a good idea to drive in slippers, either. But, how do they expect to catch people doing this?

Kinja'd!!! Jobjoris > Jonee
08/11/2016 at 04:49

Kinja'd!!!1

Do zoom in. And see those two teddy-cats next to their feet, they were untouched for only two moments: the victorious one and the seated one. Although “lapje” is in her lap there.

No idea, I was warned for that when I worked in Rimini years ago. I always where slippers...

Kinja'd!!! Jonee > Jobjoris

She’s got a lot of stuffed animals. Does she choose a new one every day?

What kind of slippers? Like this?

Kinja'd!!!

Do you nap, too, while you’re on the road?

Kinja'd!!! Jobjoris > Jonee
08/12/2016 at 04:09

Kinja'd!!!1

No, Lapje (cat, but he doesn’t hisss anymore) and Michkalala (a bunny) are her favorites. They go everywhere.

NO! Flip Flops, Havaianas. We call ‘m teen slippers. You’re showing pantoffels or sloffen . Now go pronounce those!

Kinja'd!!! Jonee > Jobjoris
08/13/2016 at 23:55

Kinja'd!!!1

Michkalala? Is that a Dutch name? It’s awesome.

Oh, flip-flops. Gross. You really shouldn’t drive in those. People here ride motorcycles with them on. It’s bad enough being seen in public wearing them. You really like your comfortable casual wear, don’t you? Pantoffels is a great word. It sounds like what my mother would call the pants my father wore back in the 70's.

Kinja'd!!! Jobjoris > Jonee
08/14/2016 at 05:26

Kinja'd!!!1

It most certainly is NOT. She just comes up with these, often ending with “la”. This one was the first with a double “la” though.

Oh, I don’t drive with those, they’re off the minute I get in the car. Nothing gross about that. Remember I wear shorts up until November and I would not know what to wear under shorts otherwise?

De teckel van mijn tante haalde altijd de pantoffels uit de slaapkamer.

Kinja'd!!! Jonee > Jobjoris
08/15/2016 at 23:32

Kinja'd!!!1

She’s good at making up names. I might have to steal that one for one of my scripts.

Oh, right. You drive au naturel . That’s what I’m saying. You like comfortable clothes.

You’re supposed to train the dog to bring you the slippers, not take them away. A teckel is a dachshund?

Kinja'd!!! Jobjoris > Jonee
08/16/2016 at 03:09

Kinja'd!!!1

Oh, if you want a name no one ever heard be sure to call her. Michkalala should be some vixen.

Yeah, dachshund! But it should take them slippers FROM the bedroom to get ‘m to you, now won’t it?

Kinja'd!!! Jonee > Jobjoris
08/17/2016 at 01:12

Kinja'd!!!1

Maybe a dominatrix. That’s along way from her namesake, though. I wouldn’t want to shock Josje when she saw the movie.

It does have to get them from the bedroom, yes. Would your aunt’s dachshund bring them to her after it took them?

Kinja'd!!! Jobjoris > Jonee
08/17/2016 at 05:28

Kinja'd!!!1

Never mind Josje’s shock, as long as you’re making a success of it you’ll be able to compensate it a lot!

Of course not. The dog would get my uncle’s pantoffels and take ‘m to him!

Kinja'd!!! shop-teacher > Jobjoris
10/10/2016 at 05:34

Kinja'd!!!1

After I applied, I received a letter that said I had been chosen at random to provide more information. Along with with the letter, was a think stapled packet of really badly xeroxed forms. Those forms basically asked for my life story from birth to that day.

They wanted every address I had ever lived at, every school I had ever attended, every job I had ever had and the name of my supervisor(as if I remember!), copies of three current IDs, copies of FIVE old IDs (who the hell keeps those?), etc, etc.

It was enough information that if it got into the wrong hands, I was done for. My ID and credit would be permanently ruined. The forms were so badly xeroxed and janky looking, I thought it was a scam. I almost reported it to the police, but then I just threw them out.

Two months later I got a letter from the state department saying that they had asked for more information, and since I didn’t provide it I was denied a passport. I was free to apply again another time.

I never have, and I can’t help but wonder if I’m on some shady list now.

I will try again when the kids get older. I’m not interested in a Trans-Atlantic flight with two little ones. I know people do it all the time, but there’s plenty of stuff we haven’t seen over here for now. I don’t wish to be the old guy who has never left his country.
